Amity Gamay Noir 2000

Varietal: Other Red Wine

Vineyard: Amity Vineyards

Region: Willamette Valley, Oregon

This wine is made 100% from Gamay noir, the true name of the grape grown in Beaujolais, France and used to make the wines from that region. The parentage of the grape shows in the wine. Like a Beaujolais-Villages, it has structure for aging, but the voluptuousness that entices immediate drinking. An intensely fruity nose leads into a soft, round, fleshy wine that is wonderful for casual entertaining, picnics, etc. It will give more enjoyment to hamburgers, fried chicken and seafood served with tomato or spicy sauces. Enjoyable now, it will improve for two or three years.
