Following the success of our previous bottlings, it is our goal to produce a blend harmonizing the structure and deep fruit of Cabernet Sauvignon, the suppleness and forward fruit of Merlot, and the floral and soft elegance of Cabernet Franc. The 1996 vintage in Southern Oregon contrasted dramatically from our northern neighbors. The Bordeaux varieties benefit enormously from late season heat, developing extremely rich fruit and full, velvety tannins. The resulting wine is more reminiscent of our hot 1994 vintage that the cool 1995 vintage, reflective in the full body, velvety tannin, and bright, lifted, ripe berry fruit.
